"Explosive Siren" was the first image in a series of dark art concepts I conjured up for the collection of Crypt Studios promo shoots I've been working on within the past year. I wanted something very bold, stark, and bombastic that encompassed the criteria setup by the Crypt fellas (heavy music and rock & roll women with a dark edge).My thought process started with the overall shape of the image and worked its way into the details. A new life entered my life a few months ago when my son Ian was born. He's mine and my wife's first child and we couldn't be happier. He popped out a healthy, handsome, wrinkly, blond, lanky, 6 lb. 9 oz. confused, screamy, bundle of love who gets cuter by the day.  Sometimes, when on an assignment, unexpected photo opportunities reveal themselves that have nothing to do with the shoot itself.While out and about shooting the president of a university, I happened to catch this gentleman having lunch at a local diner. No big deal until clouds quickly gathered and created this rather dramatic scene.
